TASK
To design a boho-inspired, colorful, and eclectic home extension that celebrates the family’s personal story, craftsmanship, and playful spirit, while integrating heritage elements and functional living spaces.
THE CONCEPT
This home is a vivid reflection of its owners — energetic, colorful, and unapologetically bold. Perched above the parents’ house, the extension embraces both heritage and personality: a four-pitched roof frames a partially visible wooden ceiling with exposed beams, blending rustic charm with contemporary boho flair.

The interiors are a celebration of color, texture, and craftsmanship: terracotta accents enliven walls, the kitchen, and the master bed; ochre tones warm the living room; daring black details punctuate the eclectic composition. Handmade furniture, bespoke lighting, macramé, and artful decorations create a space that feels personal, vibrant, and fully lived-in. Every corner tells a story — from the restored wooden door crafted by the father to the tree-trunk sinks he made for the children’s bathroom — capturing the family’s hands-on creativity and legacy.
LAYOUT
The functional layout responds to daily life with clarity and character. A spacious walk-in wardrobe greets residents from the entrance, leading into the kitchen and open living area. The living space is bold and inviting, featuring a retro cast-iron fireplace and a palette of rich terracotta and ochre tones.

The master suite continues the boho narrative, with a canopy bed anchoring the room and bespoke details reflecting the owners’ personality. Each child has a dedicated bedroom designed for both comfort and play: the daughter’s room includes a soft bed and cozy furnishings, complemented by a hanging wicker chair for reading and relaxation, while the son’s room features his own bed, functional storage, and playful climbing elements, such as ropes and a small ladder — all integrated seamlessly into the space.

Artisanal details are present throughout: the family’s own craftsmanship shines in the restored wooden door in the children’s bathroom and in the tall tree-trunk supports for the sinks, both made by the father. Custom furniture, hand-crafted lighting, and macramé pieces further enhance the eclectic, colorful, and vibrant character of the home. The result is a space that balances boho warmth, playful energy, and deeply personal narrative, perfectly attuned to the family’s spirit.
