A neat and organized young man.
TASK
To create a laconic, sober interior, that would be very practical but would have a sophisticated look.
To design a roomy open space that would consist of a kitchen, dining area and the living room.
To provide a comfortable bedroom with a wide wardrobe and a master bathroom.
To take into consideration multiple lighting scenarios.
THE CONCEPT
This apartment is, in fact, an image of masculinity and sobriety. Designing it we’ve opted for pure, plain shapes, straight lines, and no decorations. While basically the surfaces in this space are monotonous, we’ve used natural textures of wood and stone as accents of this interior. The soft, warm decorative lighting creates a cosy ambience, amplifying the textures and making the furniture float. Though the interior doesn’t have bright colour accents it looks balanced due to the tonal contrast of the materials. Of course, the magic of this project is the lighting moon next to the dining zone. And the thing is that when we decided to use the image of the Moon for the lightbox we didn’t have an idea that the client is actually obsessed by the Space. So, we’ve felt the mood and the vibe of this space from the very beginning, which, of course is an amazing thing!
Due to the fact that initially there were very few walls built we didn’t have to come with major changes. Although, we’ve enlarged a little bit both bathrooms to make them fit all the required features. Also we’ve redesigned the entrance zone offering it some space for a kind of walk-through wardrobe.
The apartment is functionally divided into day zone and bedrooms. The open space consists of living room, kitchen and dining zone. The kitchen zone is bounded by the bar, as well as by the ceramic flooring, so that the functional zones a clearly divided. The bar position is convenient for having fast meals or coffee and watching TV at the same time.
The master bedroom is equipped with a large closet, and as the client loves orderliness he even dared to have glass facades here. The master bathroom contains a shower cabin with a part of glass partition to the bedroom.
There is an amount of veiled storage spaces for a multitude of housekeeping items, so that each of them has a certain designed space. So, the interior doesn’t look cluttered up even if we don’t have a technical or a storage room here.
With the redesigned layout this apartment became very comfortable and the movement through it is very easy and logical. All the functional zones are well defined, though there are no physical boundaries between them.
